This winter Hanau gains a new attraction: from 30 October 2026 to 24 January 2027, the LUMAGICA light park brings a large-scale light art event to the park of Philippsruhe Palace for the very first time.
Under the theme "Magical Castle Park", the historic grounds around the palace turn into a glowing fantasy world after dark. Along a roughly ninety-minute trail you discover themed areas developed exclusively for this location – from a colourful animal world to artfully illuminated flower gardens, a fascinating world of birds and a magical fantasy realm with fairytale figures.
Specially set up photo points are dotted throughout the park – the perfect backdrop for unforgettable memories with your loved ones.

Yes, right at the entrance to the palace park. Box office prices are lower than advance sale prices, but you may have to expect longer waiting times.
Parking is available around the palace park along Philippsruher Allee. We nevertheless recommend arriving by public transport.
There are plenty of bins in the park and we kindly ask you to leave the park clean for the next guests.
Reductions apply to seniors aged 65 and over, apprentices, pupils and students (up to 27 years) as well as people with disabilities – in each case only upon presentation of a valid ID. The exhibition is wheelchair accessible; a registered companion is admitted free of charge.
Families can use the family ticket for up to 4 people, e.g. 2 adults and 2 children or 1 adult and 3 children.
Admission is free and no ticket is required for children up to and including 6 years. Children from 7 to 15 years inclusive are entitled to the reduced ticket.
Time-slot tickets are purchased for a specific day and time. Please come on the day and time slot you selected – this helps spread visitor numbers.
Flex tickets are valid on any day and are not tied to a time slot.
Yes, reduced group rates apply from 10 people. A special rate applies Monday to Friday for school classes (general education schools, vocational schools and trade schools as a class group).

A cancellation will be communicated as early as possible. Tickets already purchased for the cancelled event are automatically converted into FLEX tickets and you can visit LUMAGICA on a day of your choice with the ticket of the cancelled day.
Should this happen at the end of the event series and no opportunity for a new visit arises, please contact info@lumagica.com for a refund of the purchase price.
Yes, the trail is barrier-free and wheelchair accessible.
LUMAGICA is an outdoor event and takes place in any weather, including rain.
Tickets cannot be returned due to bad weather. We recommend weatherproof clothing and sturdy footwear.
Dogs are strictly prohibited, unless they are designated assistance dogs such as guide dogs.
Yes. The paths are barrier-free.
The trail (not guided) takes around one and a half hours. Of course you can take a break at any time, admire the light installations at length and take memorable pictures at the photo points.
