From 17 November 2026 to 2 February 2027, ZooLights – Magical Worlds of Light takes you on a fascinating journey around the world. After dark, Erlebnis-Zoo Hannover turns into a glowing winter world full of colour, shapes and imagination.
Follow the sparkling lights along the atmospherically illuminated discovery trail and encounter impressive light installations – from a walk-in train of lights to a hot-air balloon that sets the night sky aglow. Every station tells its own story and invites you to marvel, linger and take photos.
For younger guests, the Brodelburg becomes a magical place where light, play and imagination merge into a unique winter experience for the whole family.

The ZooLights Ticket is valid for a fixed visiting day at the discounted online rate, the Flexiticket for any evening of the season. Friday is family day, the LateLight Ticket lets you drop in from 8:30 pm – and the ZooLightsCard as often as you like.

Public transport
From the main station you reach the zoo in around 10–15 minutes: bus lines 128, 134 and 900 run from the station forecourt directly to the zoo, or take light rail line 11 to the “Zoo” stop right in front of the entrance.

The Erlebnis-Zoo sits right by the Eilenriede city forest in the centre of Hannover – sat-nav destination: Adenauerallee 1, 30175 Hannover. Plenty of parking is available directly at the zoo (height limit 2.00 m), chargeable from 6:00 am to midnight: up to 30 minutes free, up to 2 hours € 4.00, up to 3 hours € 6.00, from 3 hours € 8.00. The parking ticket can also be paid online. As an alternative, the HCC multi-storey car park (Theodor-Heuss-Platz 1–3) with around 700 spaces is about a 10-minute walk away.
By bike
The Erlebnis-Zoo is well connected to the cycle path network. Plenty of bike racks are located directly in front of the entrance and next to the car park.

ZooLights Ticket: date-bound with a fixed visiting day and an online price advantage, from € 23.80 (adults).
Flexiticket: valid on any evening of the season without booking a date, € 29.80 (adults).
Family ticket: every Friday, from € 34.60 for one adult and one child – further children and a second adult can be added at the base price.
LateLight Ticket: admission between 8:30 and 9:00 pm, from € 9.80 (adults).
ZooLightsCard: season pass for unlimited visits throughout the season, € 64.80 (adults) or € 39.80 (children).
Children under 5 are admitted free of charge and do not need a ticket. The children’s rate applies from 5 to 17 years inclusive, the adult rate from 18 years.

No. No animals can be seen in the enclosures during ZooLights – the focus is entirely on the light installations along the discovery trail.
No, dogs are not permitted. Guide dogs are excepted.
Plenty of parking is available directly at the zoo (height limit 2.00 m). It is chargeable from 6:00 am to midnight: up to 30 minutes free, up to 2 hours € 4.00, up to 3 hours € 6.00, from 3 hours € 8.00. Once you have entered the car park, the parking ticket can also be paid online. As an alternative, the Hannover Congress Centrum multi-storey car park (Theodor-Heuss-Platz 1–3) with around 700 spaces is about a 10-minute walk away.
ZooLights is an outdoor event and takes place in all weather, including rain. We recommend weatherproof clothing and sturdy footwear.
