A park becomes a stage. Light meets creativity, nature meets art, and classic forms of expression meet the possibilities of the future. More than 50 artists from a wide range of creative fields come together in this Light Art Gallery to create an extraordinary overall experience.
This makes the Hofgarten more than an exhibition. It becomes a place of encounter – between artists and visitors, between tradition and the future, between nature, light and creativity.

How to find us
Hofgarten Innsbruck – entrance next to the Tyrolean State Theatre, Rennweg 2, 6020 Innsbruck
By public transport
The Light Art Gallery is right in the city centre, next to the Imperial Palace, the Congress and the Tyrolean State Theatre. The nearest stop is “Congress”; further bus and tram stops are just a few minutes’ walk away. From Innsbruck main station it is around a 20-minute walk. Timetables at ivb.at and vvt.at.
By bike
There are bike racks in front of the Tyrolean State Theatre – right next to the exhibition entrance.
By car
There is no dedicated parking at the Hofgarten. We recommend the nearby car parks: Congress Garage (Herrengasse/Rennweg), InnenSTADT-Garage (Kaiserjägerstraße 1), Kaiserjäger-Parkgarage (Kaiserjägerstraße 4a), Markthallengarage (Herzog-Siegmund-Ufer 5) and Altstadtgarage (Innrain 4). Car parks are often busy in the evening – arriving by public transport or bike is the more relaxed option.

Yes. LUMAGICA is an outdoor event and takes place in any weather, including rain or snow. Tickets cannot be refunded due to bad weather. We recommend weatherproof clothing and sturdy shoes.
Yes, there is food and drink along the route. Enjoy a mulled wine or a hot chocolate and try savoury and sweet treats.
Yes, dogs are allowed on a lead. Dogs must not enter lawns or planted areas. Please bear in mind that music and light effects along the route may affect your dog’s well-being – the decision is yours.
