A dazzling adventure in Magdeburg’s Elbauenpark!
When Elbauenpark transforms into a sparkling sea of lights in autumn, LUMAGICA is back in Magdeburg! This year, visitors can once again look forward to a completely new theme that will take them on a magical journey of discovery: “Around the world in 80 days.”
Inspired by Jules Verne’s legendary adventure novel, a luminous journey around the globe begins in Elbauenpark. Following in the footsteps of Phileas Fogg and his faithful companion Passepartout, guests immerse themselves in distant cultures, exotic landscapes, and exciting adventures – told through impressive light sculptures, atmospheric illuminations, and surprising special effects.
Since Lumagica opened, 30,000 visitors have already visited the light exhibition in Elbauenpark Magdeburg. We are therefore delighted to announce that the popular light festival will be extended until January 6, giving even more guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in an enchanting world of light and fantasy!

Special attention is paid to the Millennium Tower, whose architecture is highlighted by innovative lighting design.
Laser water show at Angersee
A special highlight this year is the laser water show, which was designed especially for Angersee and will be shown in Magdeburg for the first time.

The Elbauenpark Magdeburg offers an oasis in the capital of Saxony-Anhalt.
Arrival by public transport
Travel tip: Take the local train to Magdeburg Central Station, then continue on tram line 6 to the Messegelände/Elbauenpark stop.
Arrival by car
The Lichterpark can be reached by car via the A14 and the A2. The MVGM Tessenowstraße parking lot is available as a parking option.
Arrival by bike
Bicycle hangers are available at the parking lot or entrance.

Tickets can be purchased ONLINE or at the box office on site.

Is there a box office?
Yes, but it is recommended to buy tickets ONLINE.
The box office is located at the entrance to the park.
You can pay by card or cash.
Waste disposal
There is ample opportunity for waste disposal in the park and we ask you to leave the park clean for the next guests.
Are there parking spaces on site?
Yes, parking spaces are available, but there is a charge. We recommend travelling by public transport (tram 6 to Messegelände/Elbauenpark).
Are there disabled parking spaces directly on the premises?
Yes, these are located at the entrance to the Elbauenpark.
Are there discounted tickets?
Reductions apply to senior citizens aged 65 and over, schoolchildren, students and people with disabilities (please bring proof). Accompanying persons of people with disabilities (if “B” or “H” is written on their ID) are admitted free of charge and do not need their own ticket.
There is a family ticket for families. It is valid for up to 4 people. E.g. 2 adults and 2 children or 1 adult and 3 children.
Admission for children up to the age of 6 is free of charge and possible without a ticket.
Children from 7-15 are entitled to the discounted ticket.

Our tickets are available for purchase for a specific day and time slot.
Please come to the day and time slot you have chosen.
This will help to balance out the crowds.
Are there group tickets?
Yes.

Can I cancel my ticket?
Unfortunately no, tickets are generally excluded from exchange and return.
I have lost something in the park. What can I do?

What happens if LUMAGICA is cancelled?
A cancellation will be communicated as early as possible. Tickets already purchased for the cancelled events will automatically be converted into FLEX tickets and you can come to LUMAGICA on a day of your choice with the ticket of the cancelled day.
If this should be at the end of the event series and there is no possibility of re-entry, please contact us HERE for a refund of the purchase price.
Is LUMAGICA barrier-free?
Yes, the tour is barrier-free and wheelchair accessible.
Weather and clothing
LUMAGICA is an outdoor event and takes place in all weathers, including rain.
Tickets cannot be returned due to bad weather.
In any case, we recommend weatherproof clothing and sturdy shoes.
Are dogs allowed?
Dogs are strictly prohibited unless they are designated assistance dogs such as guide dogs for the blind.
Can I bring a pram?
Yes. The paths are barrier-free.
How long is the circular route?
The circular trail (not guided) is a one-way system and is approx. 1.5 – 2 km long. Depending on the time spent and the breaks, it takes about 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. Of course, you can take breaks at any time to admire the fascinating light installations and take lots of photos.
There are signposted toilets and catering facilities along the way.
Gastronomic offer
There is a gastronomic offer with local food along the way. Enjoy a cup of mulled wine or a hot chocolate or try our savoury and sweet dishes.
May I take photographs?
